WeWork India, a flexible workspace provider, collaborated with StrongHer Ventures to launch’Arise,’ a program meant to help India’s female entrepreneurs find new possibilities.
WeWork Labs, WeWork’s worldwide incubation and acceleration arm, and StrongHer Ventures, India’s and the world’s first women-focused venture capital firm, will lead the association.
StrongHer Ventures’ significant investment skills and investor network are combined with WeWork Labs’ global acceleration platform to establish Arise.
Over the next five years, the initiative will connect with 5,000 companies, mentor 1000 entrepreneurs, and invest in over 100 firms. It will affect over a million women in India, resulting in a 5x increase in investment for women entrepreneurs, a doubling of women business enterprenaur throughout the impacted group of women, and a 50% decrease in the gender pay gap.
WeWork Labs has always been uniquely capable of providing ground-up effect because of WeWork India’s substantial physical presence across the nation, stated ArvindRadhakrishnan, Head of Labs, WeWork India. This enables us to keep our eyes on the ground in a variety of micro-ecosystems and connect with founders on a more personal level. The partnership’s goal is to “create a strong foundation for women-led and focused businesses in India by providing a mix of financing, acceleration, mentorship, customer, and market access to high-potential women-led or women-focused firms in the future.
Arise will provide women entrepreneurs with a variety of benefits, including knowledge sessions, boot camps, sector experts, engaged mentoring, curated networking events, hiring drives, warm client connect, access to follow-on capital, and up to $1 million in perks, as part of the acceleration program. WeWork Labs’ Growth Campus program will also provide access to WeWork spaces at significantly reduced pricing.

All pre-seed women-led/women-focused firms in the broad categories of health, fin-tech, consumer, future of work, and web 3.0 will be eligible for the acceleration program. One of the main priorities will be to work with the entrepreneurs during various rounds of funding to assist them to expand their companies and focus on long-term social impact by releasing original research based on their learnings. This is intended to promote industry thought leadership and advocate for policy reforms.
